Renata, or “DJ Potira”, is a versatile woman. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the carioca is a Capoeira instructor and DJ in Los Angeles. She used to practice Muay Thai to keep in good shape but when she started practicing capoeira at the age of 23, she felt in love with this afro Brazilian martial art, which involves straight kicks, acrobatic movement and endurance. All those elements help her to build a beautiful body.
Happiness to her is to spend as much time as possible doing the things that she loves and sharing her time with friends and family. Her motto is “you can do whatever you want if you put your heart and mind into it. Dedication, practice and patient are key to become good at anything.”
She loves Japanese food and in her free time she likes doing stand up board yoga. As a good Brazilian, and daughter of a Bossa Nova singer, Renata Belem loves music, especially Samba, Bossa Nova, Classic House and Hip Hop. She admits “I always followed my mom around as a child, and dreamed when growing up to be a DJ and musician… following somehow my family’s steps.” She is 5’3 and weighs 115 pounds.
