Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Laura Soares began her modeling career in her early teens, quickly becoming a recognized Brazilian swimsuit model.
In 2005, she moved to San Diego, California, where she attended college while continuing her work in the swimwear industry.
Building a swimwear brand in Los Angeles
In 2006, Laura relocated to Los Angeles and took a bold step: launching her own swimwear collection.

SB – When you first hear or read the name Soul Brasil and what came first in your mind?
LS – The Soul of Brazil and consequently the passion of the Brazilian people, the perseverance of the country, the richness of the culture, the festive energy and the proud spirit.
SB – What does “Happiness” signify for you?
LS – To me is to be surrounded by the people I love. Both of my parents have passed away so it’s very important that my sisters, who still live in Brazil, and I continue to find ways to stay close and share our lives. I’ve been fortunate enough to find the man of my dreams who has welcomed me into his family with two precious kids and with whom together our family will grow.
SB – What is your planning and vision for your future?
LS – My focus for now is my swimwear business and modeling career, both of which I thoroughly enjoy and will continue to pursue. However, a new passion which I really enjoy is hosting and acting. My latest acting debut look was “Garota Eu Fui Pra California”. It’s a sitcom in portuguese about a young and diverse group of Brazilian people living a fabulous life in L.A. The premier was last July 23rd on ITV (open digital TV channel). In addition I’m working on hosting my own variety show…stay tuned. As far as longer term I don’t like to plan it too much. Just as long as I’m surrounded by the people I love and pursuing my passions, life will feel fulfilling rewarding.
