(Friday, June 26, 7pm) Brazilian singer Rogê presents a special one-night performance at Grand Performances (part of the COLA Fellowship 2) in Downtown Los Angeles, and FREE. For this occasion, the “carioca” will debut Sebastiões, an unreleased project featuring original compositions performed live for the first time. The work brings to life a series of characters inspired by Rio de Janeiro, told through diverse perspectives that reflect the city’s spirit, contradictions, and humanity. The evening will also feature performances by Juliette Jones—a violinist and arranger based in Los Angeles – and DaEn Jung – a dancer and choreographer born in Korea, currently based in Los Angeles.
(Sun, Nov 8 at 11am) Formula 1, Brazilian Grand Prix Live at Trademark Brewing in Long Beach. For those fanatics of auto racing, watch the Brazilian Ground Prix with SOUND ON. (Fri-Sun, June 19 to 21) Santa Barbara Summer Solstice Celebration, a three-day FREE festival at Alameda Park, featuring a massive parade on Saturday starting noon on June 20 at Cota St. with State St. – known as one of Santa Barbara’s largest, the parade is a colorful spectacle that often ends at Alameda Park. The theme this year is “Wonder”, and the celebration includes arts, music, food, and family activities – that includes FUNtopia, a children’s area, face painting, and Kids World.
(Sat, July 25, 9am to 6pm) Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival at Marine Stadium. A FREE annual event and one of the largest dragon boat competitions in California. Dozens of teams compete, each with approximately 18 paddlers per boat. Beyond the races, attendees can enjoy traditional Chinese art demonstrations, acrobats, martial arts, dance performances – including drummers whose rhythmic pulse drives the rowers’ motions, and various food vendors.
(JUL Sat 25 to AUG Sun 2,) Lexus U.S Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach presented by Cerveza Pacifico, a FREE event made up of two competition divisions: the second stop of the World Surf League (WSL) Longboard Tour and the fourth stop on the WSL Challenger Series. This year’s festivities will include world-class surfing, live music at the WSL Beach Bar stage, and much more. Head down to the beach to enjoy food and drink and product demos featuring prizes and games from your favorite action sport industry brands. Featured activities will include movie screenings, iHeart DJs, and signings from your favorite athletes.

(Wed-Sun, Aug 5 to 9) The 103rd annual Old Spanish Days Fiesta in Santa Barbara, California. This five-day (mostly FREE) historic festival celebrates the city’s Mexican, Spanish, and Indigenous heritage with traditional dance, music, parades, and mercados (marketplaces) held throughout downtown venues with the historic “El Desfile Historico on Friday, Aug 7 from Noon to 2pm. Major celebrations take place at the Old Mission Santa Barbara and the Sunken Gardens of the Santa Barbara County Courthouse.

(Fri-Sun, Sept 25 to 27) The 2026 Ohana Festival at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, California. Curated by Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam band), this three-day, all-ages festival features rock, indie, and alternative music alongside pro surfing demos and environmental advocacy. By the time we published this festival the line up was not announced, but usually features high-caliber rock/alternative acts, and a pretty cool vibe!

Every Summer one of the greatest things in California is the Free Outdoor and Indoor Music Series in different venues/locations in the golden state – live music and dance FREE to the public is offered during the whole summer every year. Here bellow we cover mostly of these events in Southern California – or at least the best ones!
LOS ANGELES COUNTY
The Summer Sessions Free Outdoor Concert at the Getty Center in L.A – Each year the series presents a diverse lineup of musical talents, many of whom mix and match musical traditions and genres. The series showcased a myriad of musical styles, from hip-hop, blues, and rock, to Latin boogaloo, Afro-Peruvian jazz, Mexican cabaret, merengue, electronic beats, Indian rhythms, and even Algerian trance music. All concerts are free and no reservations are needed. Concerts take place from 6:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. at the J. Paul Getty Museum at the Getty Center. www.getty.edu
Summer Series Culver City Music Festival – The Culver City re-development agency and the City of Culver City Presents every year the Annual Culver City Summer Sunset Music Festival. Summer Series at Fisherman’s Village – Located in beautiful Marina Del Rey in L.A area, Fisherman’s Village offers Saturday concerts from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Summer Series at Burton Chace Park – The Free Marina del Rey Summer Concerts are held in a beautiful waterside setting at Burton Chace Park. The series features Thursday evening classical concerts showcasing the Marina del Rey Summer Symphony, with Frank Fetta, conductor and guest soloists. On alternate weeks, Saturday pop concerts star celebrated musical entertainers. You are welcome to bring a picnic basket full of your favorite foods! Summer Series at Pershing Square – Pershing Square is an outdoor concert and event center located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. It hosts an array of free programs for the downtown community such as Swingin’ Wednesday, Lunchtime Concerts and Salsa Sundays. Summer Series at Japanese American National Museum – Located in Little Tokyo near Downtown Los Angeles, the Japanese American National Museum is proud to present the 1st & Central Summer Concerts. Summer Series at California Plaza – Grand Performances presents free performing arts that reflect the best of global culture and inspire community among the diverse peoples of Los Angeles. The Summer Series at Los Angeles County Museum of Art – LACMA, have admission-free jazz concerts that are presented on the Los Angeles Times Central Court usually between 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. These events feature the art of jazz as practiced by outstanding jazz artists from Los Angeles and elsewhere. City of Beverly Hills “Summer Nights” – The city of Beverlly Hills offer the Concerts on Canon summer season which kicks off in 2024 with Pride Night!
