ChatGPT What The Limit Artificial Intelligence 2The use of artificial intelligence technology has been hotly debated in recent months as it is revolutionizing many areas of society. The ChatGPT, launched by the OpenAI research group in November 2022, is supposed to produce text on virtually any subject in the format requested by the user. However, the tool is already worrying several experts for supposedly reducing the need for “intellectual work” in the field of education and even at work.

ChatGPT is a free tool that reproduces the functioning of the human brain, including the ability to learn by itself from new experiences. The system works on the principle of Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback. According to OpenAI, the AI is able to “interact” with users, “answer questions,” “challenge incorrect assumptions,” “reject inappropriate requests,” and even “admit its own mistakes.”

By now, it is already known that AI can be used to write articles, music lyrics, write abstracts and papers, and even texts with an advertising bias.

With the tool’s impressive versatility, education professionals are already concerned about students using ChatGPT to cheat on school assignments. According to CNN, during an experiment, the AI has already been used to take an exam at an Ivy League school and was successful. In fact, public schools in New York City and Seattle have already banned students and teachers from using AI on district networks and devices.

In the corporate area, professionals are torn between appreciating the new tool and feeling wary of its “creative” agility. With highly persuasive text and requiring few changes, ChatGPT can be used to create advertising texts, social media posts, and other business documents.

Limitations of ChatGPT

Despite its remarkable performance, the artificial intelligence is not perfect – at least not yet. The tool struggles with basic calculations, as it works best with approximate information. It is because of this that, according to surveys, many American citizens still do not trust Artificial Intelligence.

According to users, ChatGPT is ideal for saving time in writing articles and searching for answers, but to captivate customers it would require more personalized and “humanized” tactics.

“It’s not perfect, but it was a great starting point. My background is in technology and writing something eloquent takes time. This made it a lot easier,” said realtor JJ Johannes, in an interview with CNN.

ChatGPT is free. But until when?

Despite charging no fees to use it, the free era of ChatGPT may be nearing its end. With only a short time of public availability, the company OpenAI has already announced that it is considering a monthly charge of $42.

In January 2023, transnational company Microsoft announced that it is making a “multi-billion dollar” investment in OpenAI. As one of the first investors in the initiative, the tech giant said it plans to expand its partnership with OpenAI, with the goal of adding more artificial intelligence to its suite of products.

In a blog post, OpenAI said that the multi-year investment will be used to “develop increasingly safe, useful and powerful AI.”
