Fabiano was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro and has also lived in São Paulo for a few years before arriving in Los Angeles in 2001 as a teenager with his family. Some of the first friends he made/met and played with were musicians. “Pablo Calogero, Aloe Blacc, and Kleber Jorge introduced me to the scene and other musicians in L.A when I was very young, and from then I slowly started to find my own way”, added Fabiano. He together with Pablo Calogero and percussionist Tiki Passillas, founded Triorganico.
Since then he recorded and worked with many artists including Airto Moreira, Jovino dos Santos, Mia Doi Todd, Aloe Blacc, Sumiko Fukatsu, Arthur Verocai, Draco Rosa, Justo Almario, and Sam Gendel. He has performed in different venues in SoCa as the Ford Amphitheater, Baked Potato, Catalinas, Old Jazz Bakery, Blue Whale, Sam’s First, and Skirball at Getty Center just to name a few.
The guitarist/composer/arranger was born into a musical family and had his first contact with music at the age of six. Fabiano do Nascimento studied classical piano and music theory as a young boy. He consider himself a self-taught musician, and was influenced by many aspects of Brazilian music and jazz at an early age, including the music of his uncle, the late Lúcio Nascimento. “My uncles were musicians and they introduced me to the guitar. From that point on I knew I loved music and I wanted to do that for the rest of my life”.
After all these years of making music, he feels like he’s just getting started. He is about to launch two projects of his original music: “Prelude”, being released with Now-Again records and very personal, and “Ykytu”, music and visual art in connection with nature.
I have heard him play many times. He is finaminal.
