In its ninth edition, the Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival started on Thursday, November 9th, and presenting the film opening film “The Movie of my Life” (O filme da minha vida) directed and starring acclaimed Brazilian actor and filmmaker Selton Mello. The program showcases the best and most recent selection of Brazilian films, many of which have screened in world prestigious film festivals a special retrospective screening, industry seminars, networking party.
Starring Vincent Cassell, Selton Mello, Jonny Massaro and Bruna Linzmeyer, “The Movie of my Life”, the award winning, follows young Tony (Massaro) in the 1960s as he returns to his hometown in the South of Brazil to find out that his French father (Cassell) has returned to his home country, leaving him to deal with opening his own path in life.
The movie is based on the novel “A Distant Father” by Antonio Skármeta, and was adapted to the screen by Selton Mello and Marcelo Vindicatto.
The Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival is a non-profit organization devoted to promote the most preeminent Indie Brazilian productions at the worldwide Mecca of Cinema. A diverse mix of 23 feature films and shorts will be screened at this year’s festival, among them 1 international premiere, 1 U.S. Premiere, 1 West Coast Premiere. The festival invites everyone to attend with open doors by offering all its screenings for free from November 10th until November 12th, 2017.
