Women’s day has passed, but it is always worth celebrating and honoring the beautiful and warrior women who struggle daily. So eleven Brazilian Female Artists are going to perform the Music and Literature of Historical and Contemporary Brazilian Women in Los Angeles. The event is produced by Brazilian Heart Music and is the fifth in an annual series of shows created and produced by Kátia Moraes, which pay homage to renowned artists from Brazil.

The music of Brazil’s female singer/songwriters, presented by female Brazilian artists living in Los Angeles. The music will be accompanied by poems and lyrics in English and Portuguese, as well as writings by some of the most important women in Brazilian history. The show will also focus on the work of singer/songwriter Rita Lee, who is celebrating her 50th anniversary as a performing artist.

Kátia Moraes always strives to present innovative and excellent Brazilian music to Southern Californian audiences. Ms. Moraes has sung with international stars like Oscar Castro Neves, Sergio Mendes, and Airto Moreira. Her four previous “Celebrations” were dedicated to Elis Regina (2012), Clara Nunes (2013), Maria Bethânia (2014), and Noel Rosa (2015).
