The Brazil California Chamber of Commerce (BCCC) presented their Annual Southern Cross (Cruseiro do Sul) appreciation Gala Dinner at the Sofitel Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA last month on November 13th. This year the award was given to a Brazilian gentleman, Amauri Soares which has been working for the Globo Group of Companies for 17 years, who is currently the Chief Executive of Globo International New York Ltd.
Early in his career at Globo International, Mr. Soares realized that the organization had to be more active in the Brazilian community living in the USA. In 2003 he led the launch of Planeta Brasil, the first TV Globo show aimed exclusively at Brazilians living outside their country.
