Jahgun, who is deeply influenced by so many cultures, sounds, and rhythms, created a body of work that represents who he is as an artist. Born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, he is an international singer, songwriter, recording artist, and producer of Reggae, Roots Reggae, Ragga Muffin , Afro Beat, Dance Hall, World Music and Brazilian Music Genre.
His work is an integration of his native Brazilian beat, African roots, and his passion for Reggae music, all taking place in this great melting pot, his current home town, Los Angeles, California – making an extraordinary connection between Brazil, Jamaica and the U.S., bringing into his music an incredible mix of sounds, rhythms, and poetry.
Some of his most recent projects are: New Rockars, Afro-Beat, and The Orange Roots in which he participates bringing his all-around artistry to the project. In 2012 when on tour in Qatar as the lead vocalist of the band Reggae Motion, Jahgun shared the stage with the legendary Reggae artist Maxi Priest at the Sun Splash Festival and proudly played for the US troops based at Camp “As Sayliyah” when Jahgun and the band were awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from The US Military.
Jahgun has shared the stage with many renowned Reggae bands in the Los Angeles scene such as Israel Vibrations, Pato Banton, Toots and the Maytals, the Absinians, Midnite, Maxi Priest, MIchael Rose, Third World, Black Uhuru, Lutan Fyah, Don Carlos, and have showcased his musical work a few times at the famous House of Blues in Hollywood.
He also participated in many Reggae Festivals in the U.S. and abroad, like, the City of Trees, ROTM, Brazilian Day San Diego,
The Earth Day, and The Summer Splash Festival in Qatar, just to name a few. Jahgun has also opened for many renowned artists, including luminaries like Julian Marley, Ziggy Marley, Ki-many Marley, Alborosie, and Brazilian bands Natiruts and Cidade Negra among others.
His live performance always leaves the audience consciously satisfied and energized. There is more in the works! Jahgun has done a number of collaborations with different artists and Jahgun Music has become a power house of music, constantly evolving and bringing to the fans new sounds new productions and new music.
