The 2019 edition features the rhythms of the Northeast of Brazil and Rio de Janeiro through the Maracatus, Frevos, Samba and Batucada (percussion jam) plus the exuberant Brazilian choreographies of the LA Samba Dancers troupe.

Headlining is Latin Grammy Nominee, Alceu Valença, directly from Brazil on his first 7-city US and Canada Tour. Opening the festival is Calisamba band plus & DJ Potira. The event is presented by Brazilian Nites Productions in collaboration Live Nation.

A true icon and one of the most influential artists in Brazilian music, Alceu Valença returns to North America after a 20-year hiatus and embarks on his first major tour across seven cities. With a career spanning over 40 years, 35 albums, over 5 million in sales, and four Latin GRAMMY nominations, Alceu Valença has established himself as the voice of Northeastern Brazil.

The Los Angeles based samba/pagoda group CaliSamba opens with a repertoire that includes original songs and covers, which aims to get any audience on their feet and dancing. Heating up the dance floor will be the LA Samba Dancers directed and choreographed by Joany Macias, hypnotizing with their sensual and elaborate samba and frevo steps in feather sequin costumes.

Brazilian Summer Festival 2019 is a presentation of Brazilian Nites Productions that has presented the finest Brazilian artists in past years, including Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa, Dori Caymmi, Gilberto Gil, Tribalistas, Elba Ramalho, Geraldo Azevedo, Olodum, Djavan, Jorge Ben Jor, Maria Rita, Beth Carvalho and Daniela Mercury among others.
