The 9th Los Angeles International Latino Film Festival 2005 open night ceremony happened Friday, October 21 with the presence of many stars of Hollywood directors, producers, journalists and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, In the opening ceremony, the Mayor that have Mexican background remarking that he was very happy to participate in an event such as Laliff that showcases the best of Latin cinema in the city of Los Angeles. The opened movie for the Latino Festival 2005 was Habana Nights from Spanish director Benito Zambrano and during the ten days the renowned Egyptian Theater hosted films from Latin America, Spain, Portugal, France, Sweden, the United States and Canada. Among Brazilians movies, Cidade Baixa, Fabio Fabuloso, Cazuza o Tempo Nao Para, Meu Tio Matou um Cara, and the latest film from Bruno Barreto O Casamento de Romeu e Julieta. Every year the Latino Film Festival in Los Angeles welcome Latino Stars in Hollywood, Celebrities and Politics, as well the general public that attended the recognized festival in the heart of Hollywood.
