If you’re in Southern California and crave authentic Brazilian vibes, mark your calendar. Samba de Verão (Summer Samba) is heating up Hermosa Beach in the summer and fall of 2025 with a series of FREE Saturday night performances, celebrating the rhythm, energy, and soul of Brazil.
Time flies by, and it’s already November, just a few days before Thanksgiving! The LAST samba de verao of 2025 is happening SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 22nd, after several incredible Saturdays filled with samba, brasilidades, good vibes, and joy. Come and celebrate with us on a night that should be memorable with Daniel Carneiro & New Cycle band, special guests, and birthday celebrations of friends and supporters, such as our photographer Claudia Passos.

This cultural music project is the brainchild of Daniel Carneiro, a Brazilian-born multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles, and Lindenberg Junior, journalist and founder of Soul Brasil Media. Together, they’ve created a vibrant showcase blending samba, pagode, and “brasilidades” (Brazilianness) with acoustic pop, and world beats.
WHEN AND WHERE?
The FREE Samba de Verão nights series take place on select Saturdays during the 2025 summer and fall, with upcoming date and grand finale on Nov 22 (more details bellow). The party kicks off at Decadence Bar (1332 Hermosa Ave, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254) – one of the favorite spots in South Bay, transforming the coastal venue into a Brazilian vibe atmosphere and celebrating the rich culture of Brazil!
GRAND FINALE, SATURDAY 22
The Gran Finale happens just before Thanksgiving, and will be a very special night of gratitude, as we celebrate the life, friendship, and two-year anniversary of Samba L.A., a project by Chinese musician Tyler Chen, passionate about samba and Brazilian culture. We will have a special performance by the group Samba L.A., with “Baterial Completa” (full samba ensemble) to delight samba lovers, and a special guest appearance by the Seattle-based Filipino’Euro-American musician Xande on Cavaquinho and Voice – he has played and taught with bands and baterias across the U.S. and Philippines, performing with and learning from masters like Jorge Alabé, Alessandro Penezzi, and Fabiana Cozza.

Among the special guests is also Brazilian-Canadian-Japanese singer/composer Kana Shimanuki and percussionist/coreographer Slleyk da Bahia. Expect an intense night of brasilidades and samba, high-energy, feel-good atmosphere with no cover charge! Dance, have fun, and connect with Brazilian culture lovers in a space filled with live beats and sunshine spirit.
Singer and composer Daniel Carneiro will play with New Cycle Band – supported by a rotating crew of incredibly SoCal talented musicians such as Rodney de Assis (acclaimed Brazilian percussionist who spent years in Spain with Nuevo Flamenco band and collaborations with iconic Brazilian artists such as Lenine), and otthers high-caliber Brazilian musicians such as Nando Raio (Brazilian bassist member of the Andra Day band), Will Phillips (American percussionist and member of the renowned SoCal reggae/dub band Stick Figure), João Sousa (Drums), Fabio Rocha (Bass), Eliel Vasconcelos (Drums), Leo Nobre, and Leandrinho (Vocals).
Daniel Carneiro – One of the project’s creators and leader of the band is a versatile Brazilian musician, singer-songwriter, and producer known for his unique blend of acoustic pop and Brazilian rhythms. He plays guitar, bass, cavaquinho, ukulele, and has music featured in Hollywood films.
