A dazzling mix of music, dance, and fine dining now lights up Copacabana nights. Rio de Janeiro has just unveiled a spectacular new attraction designed to enchant both visitors and locals alike: the Roxy Dinner Show. Officially launched on October 17th of 2024, this immersive experience delivers a four-hour evening that blends Brazil’s rich cultural heritage with a gourmet three-course meal, all set in one of the city’s most iconic venues.

Located in the heart of Copacabana, just two blocks from the beach and close to major hotels, the Roxy Dinner Show takes place at the historic Roxy Cinema, which has been beautifully restored to preserve its 1930s architecture while adding modern flair. The show runs Thursday through Sunday, and ticket prices range from R$480 to R$620 (approximately $90–$120 USD by July of 2025 exchange rate), which includes the full dining and entertainment experience.

What’s the Roxy Dinner Show Experience Like?

Guests are welcomed into a stylish setting where the night begins with a refined three-course dinner showcasing flavors from across Brazil. You can expect culinary highlights such as Amazon-inspired sauces and traditional Brazilian desserts. While drinks are sold separately, a live Brazilian music trio plays during dinner, setting the tone for what’s to come.

The show, titled “Aquele Abraço” (a tribute to Brazilian music legend Gilberto Gil), is a vibrant celebration of Brazil’s cultural diversity. The performance blends music, dance, theater, and visual projections across a massive 210-square-meter LED screen, enhancing the storytelling and immersing the audience.

What sets the Roxy Dinner Show apart is the interactive and immersive format – performers engage with guests from the moment the curtain rises. Some servers even transform into performers mid-show! The musical lineup features over 50 iconic Brazilian songs, spanning styles like bossa nova, samba, funk carioca, and MPB, including timeless hits like “The Girl from Ipanema” and “Evidências”.

The grand finale is a spectacular tribute to Rio’s samba schools, complete with dancers in colorful Carnival-style costumes. Highlights from the debut night included the bois de Parintins, frevo, and axé, delivering a high-energy, unforgettable experience.

A Historic Setting with a Modern Twist

The Roxy Dinner Show is housed in the landmark Cinema Roxy, originally opened in 1938. After a meticulous renovation effort costing around R$65 million (USD $12 million), the venue now combines Art Deco charm with 21st-century entertainment technology.

The project was envisioned by Brazilian entrepreneur Alexandre Accioly, who sees the Roxy Dinner Show not just as a business venture, but as a contribution to Brazil’s cultural and tourism landscape. At the grand opening, he proudly proclaimed: “You are at the Roxy, in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.” It’s more than just a dinner or a performance—it’s an evening that celebrates the spirit of Brazil, crafted to impress both international travelers and locals looking for something new.
