Brazil is widely regarded as the most successful national team currently competing. In addition to a record 5 World Cup championships, Brazil holds the most World Cup wins, as well as the record for games played. They are also the only national team to have appeared in every World Cup edition. The Brazilian team brings their top players including Neymar, Philippe Coutinho, Daniel Alves, Casemiro, Firmino and Gabriel Jesus. Among the new faces is the talented strikers Bruno Henrique (Flamengo) and Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid).
After an impressive showing at the 2018 World Cup, Colombia, who is currently ranked 12th in the world, has renewed energy and excitement due to the signing of new Head Coach Carlos Queiroz (who previously coached Iran in the last World Cup). Colombia, who is in Group B along with Argentina, is expected to go deep into the 2019 Copa America tournament this summer and features some of the top players in the world like James Rodriguez, Radamel Falcao, Juan Cuadrado, along with rising stars Juan Fernando Quintero and Yerry Mina.
Famous for their white shirts with a red diagonal stripe, Peru has appeared in 5 World Cups, most recently in 2018. Peru has also captured two Copa America titles. Brazil faced the Peruvian team in the Copa America 2018 final at the Maracana stadium in Brazil in a final that probably no one predicted at the beginning of the tournament.
