Kátia Moraes is back with her “Brazilian Heart Celebrations” series which have paid homage to renowned artists from Brazil. In its 7th version, the new show will recognize International Women’s Day by performing the music inspired by immigrants from Brazil, and beyond. The songs will be interwoven with poetry and stories and featuring eight Brazilian female singer/songwriters living in Los Angeles.
The performance will also pay homage to the Choro master Jacob do Bandolim, who would have been 100 years old in 2018, and to the 50th Anniversary of the recording he did with bossa nova pioneer singer Elizeth Cardoso. “This world needs a magic touch and this is why we’re here making art; to light up the spaces in between cultures”, says Katia Moraes.
